The Future Scholars Competition starts now.

The exam is now out and for the next three weeks, Baltimore area high school juniors will have the opportunity to compete for 10 slots as JHU Mathematics Future Scholars. The program allows recipients to take up to three math classes here at JHU tuition free for full university credit during their senior year in high school. Look here for the details.

Good luck to all!

So when will we find out about acceptance into the Future Scholars Program?

Actually, we have graded the exams and will meet soon to make decisions. After that, we will notify the winners.

I will post here when the decisions have been made and the competition is over.

Good luck to you....

Okay, I have a question about your mathematics classes. I noticed that for scheduling purposes that most classes meet three times a week and then have sections that meet one other time a week. How crucial is it to attend these sections, and how flexible are they if needed to be changed to another day or another time, so as to accomadate students taking multiple mathematics classes?

Sections are not a mandatory part of class attendance. Many courses use the sections as a way to offer quizzes outside of lectures, and to collect homeworks. However, a professor should and will always accommodate a student who due to a conflict can make the lectures and cannot make the sections. This may include dedicated ofice hours for questions, other times when a student can met with a TA, or other accommodation. Hope this helps....
